College World Series 2023: Bracket, schedule and TV info for Wednesday, June 21

By the end of Wednesday evening, we could have a matchup set for the championship series of the CWS.

A pair of teams fell Tuesday, with TCU downing Oral Roberts in Bracket 1 and LSU eliminating Tennessee over in Bracket 2. That leaves TCU needing 2 wins against Florida and LSU needing 2 wins against Wake Forest for their respective spots in the championship series.

And after a very strong start to the CWS’ 8-game field, Tuesday’s games were fairly cut and dry. TCU made it look relatively easy against Cinderella Oral Roberts, winning 6-1 behind a strong offensive showing from the Horned Frogs.

LSU, on the other hand, did it with an incredible starting performance on the mound from lefty Nate Ackenhausen. He made his first start of the season against the Vols, throwing 6 innings with 4 hits, zero runs and 7 strikeouts. Tennessee failed to score a run despite stranding 5 runners in scoring position. The Tigers won the day, 5-0.

Both TCU and LSU are staring at a tough task ahead of them. Wake Forest and Florida are the No. 1 and 2 teams in the country and both look the part so far. 1 win – forget 2 – would be a tough ask of the Tigers and Horned Frogs.
