College World Series fans have created a new staple in Omaha in recent years: Support their team by taking part in the Jello Shot Challenge at Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina.

The restaurant and bar across from Charles Schwab Field reported Monday morning that 31,215 shots were sold last year, and 27,367 have been sold this year, then asked fans, “Will y’all break the collective record today or are y’all a little tired from the weekend?”

Kevin Culjat, owner of the establishment, recalled how Arkansas 4 years ago had an impressive showing after a group of fans bought 2o or 30 at a time. Because of that, Rocco’s made a tote board and Arkansas finished with 680, he told WBRZ.

Ole Miss last year set a record with 18,777. Culjat told WBRZ that the Jello Shot Challenge alone made up 42% of his financial year last year, and he said a portion of the proceeds go to charity for each team.
