Collegiate Baseball’s All-Freshman team for 2022 features 11 SEC players

Collegiate Baseball has revealed its 2022 All-Freshman team, and a number of SEC players have made the list.
There are some great young pitchers in the SEC this year. Of the 11 SEC standout freshmen honored by Collegiate Baseball, 9 of them are pitchers.
As you can see below, Tennessee leads the way with 3 players making the All-Freshman squad. Arkansas and Vanderbilt each placed 2 freshmen on the team and Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and Mississippi State each had 1 player honored:
- Chase Burns, RHP, Tennessee
- Devin Futrell, LHP, Vanderbilt
- Carter Holton, LHP, Vanderbilt
- Drew Beam, RHP, Tennessee
- Hagen Smith, LHP, Arkansas
- Dylan Ray, RHP, Alabama
- Brady Tygart, RHP, Arkansas
- Blake Purnell, RHP, Florida
- Cade Austin, RHP, South Carolina
- Blake Burke, 1B, Tennessee
- Hunter Hines, OF, Mississippi State
The players from Tennessee and Arkansas are still alive in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. They’ll be counted on in this weekend’s super-regional round with trips to Omaha for the College World Series on the line!
