Gainesville Super Regional: Game 1 start time, broadcast shifted following weather delay
By Paul Harvey
Published:
The Gainesville Super Regional is set to begin Friday night, but the festivities between No. 2 Florida and No. 15 South Carolina have been delayed due to inclement weather in the area.
Originally slated to begin at 6 pm ET, the game was announced as delayed roughly an hour prior to the first pitch. The conditions were initially expected to be clearer by about 7 pm, but things have stretched farther than that.
Fortunately, baseball is now in the near future for the Gamecocks and Gators. As of 7:50 pm, Florida announced a tentative first pitch time of 8:30 pm. Hopefully, the game is able to get started and continue on without further delay.

Along with the tentative start time, the Gators also announced the game will now be broadcast on ESPNU. ESPN2 is set to broadcast the college track and field championships, forcing the change in network.
