Justin Lebron led the way with 5 RBIs in Alabama’s 11-3 win over North Dakota State to secure the series sweep and improve to 12-0 on the season.

Lebron got 4 of his RBIs when he hit a grand slam in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Lebron’s slam made it 7-1 Alabama. Lebron hit it 382 feet with a launch angle of 33.6 degrees and 106 mph exit velo.

With the early lead, the Crimson Tide was able to cruise to victory and make it a series sweep. Starter Bobby Alcock went 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, striking out 7 and walking 1. Austin Morris, Tyler Fay and Coulson Buchanan combined for 5 innings of relief. Only Morris was charged with a run, unearned.

“I really challenged the guys yesterday after the game, and I thought that they responded,” head coach Rob Vaughn said after the game, via the team website. “We had a lot more urgency to the game today, and our focus was really good. Obviously, a big second inning there and we had some lulls in the middle innings – not from anything happening in the box, but we just shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times with a few baserunning blunders that we need to clean up.

“I loved the way we swung the bat and piled on late, and the way we threw the ball was great, too. Bobby Alcock gave us a good start and I thought that Austin Morris, Tyler Fay and Coulson Buchanan were great, too, so it was a good way to finish the weekend.”

Alabama will look to remain undefeated as it hits the road to play Jacksonville State on Tuesday. UA defeated Jacksonville State 20-11 this past Tuesday in Tuscaloosa.
