MLB.com’s list of top-100 2022 MLB Draft prospects features 17 SEC standouts

The 2022 MLB Draft will take place July 17-19 in Los Angeles. As always, several SEC players should hear their names called in the early rounds of the event.
So, which current SEC players are among the best in the current draft class?
In MLB.com’s rankings of the top 100 prospects, 17 SEC standouts make the cut, as you can see below:
- No. 7 — Jacob Berry, 3B/OF, LSU
- No. 22 — Jordan Beck, OF, Tennessee
- No. 23 — Blade Tidwell, RHP, Tennessee
- No. 24 — Connor Prielipp, LHP, Alabama
- No. 27 — Sterlin Thompson, OF, Florida
- No. 28 — Drew Gilbert, OF, Tennessee
- No. 29 — Logan Tanner, C, Mississippi State
- No. 37 — Cayden Wallace, 3B, Arkansas
- No. 38 — Jud Fabian, OF, Florida
- No. 40 — Peyton Pallette, RHP, Arkansas
- No. 41 — Landon Sims, RHP, Mississippi State
- No. 52 — Jonathan Cannon, RHP, Georgia
- No. 55 — Cade Doughty, 2B, LSU
- No. 71 — Hunter Barco, LHP, Florida
- No. 74 — Spencer Jones, OF, Vanderbilt
- No. 95 — Dominic Keegan, C, Vanderbilt
- No. 96 — Robert Moore, 2B, Arkansas
Of note, former Vanderbilt star pitcher Kumar Rocker, who was drafted in the first round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the New York Mets but didn’t sign, is ranked No. 39 on the list.
