NCAA baseball tournament projection: Baseball America places 10 SEC teams in Field of 64

The 2023 NCAA baseball tournament is right around the corner and several SEC teams are preparing to hear their landing spot for the regional round.

More and more spots are being filled as automatic qualifiers begin to trickle in from various conference tournaments across the country. The SEC tournament is winding down, too. Arkansas, Florida, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt will fight for the final 2 spots in the championship game Saturday afternoon. The championship will be held Sunday starting at 3 p.m. EST.

Because of the SEC’s dominance in the sport, all 4 of the above seem safe for a spot in the tournament come Monday’s selection show. Baseball America agrees.

The college baseball site released its recent projections for the Field of 64, including the projected fate of 10 SEC teams. Of these 10 teams, 8 SEC squads are projected to host.

Florida (2)Gainesville vs. Texas Tech, Cal St. Fullerton, Alabama State

Arkansas (3): Fayetteville vs. Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Saint Louis

LSU (4): Baton Rouge vs. Southern Miss, Arizona State, Nicholls State

Vanderbilt (7): Nashville vs. Washington, NC State, Lipscomb

Auburn (11): Auburn vs. Texas, Troy, Air Force

Alabama (12): Tuscaloosa vs. Dallas Baptist, TCU, Rider

Kentucky (13)Lexington vs. Indiana, Xavier, Ball State

South Carolina (14): Columbia vs. Duke, Oregon, Wofford

Texas A&M: Coral Gables vs. Miami (10), Oregon State, Maine

Tennessee: Terre Haute vs Indiana State (16), Iowa and Wright State
