Oral Roberts defeats TCU in dramatic fashion in opening round of College World Series
Oral Roberts’ magical run continued on Friday afternoon with a 6-5 victory over TCU in Omaha.
The Golden Eagles scored 4 runs in the top of the 9th innings to overcome a late 3-run deficit against the Horned Frogs.
The hero was 9-hole hitter Blaze Brothers, who hit a 1-out, 3-run home run to put Oral Roberts on top.

Star closer Cade Denton ran into trouble in the 8th inning, but he redeemed himself in the final frame. He secured the final 3 outs in the 9th to give ORU its first win in the College World Series in over 4 decades.
ORU out-hit TCU 11-8 in this game. Justin Quinn led the way with a 4-for-5 afternoon at the dish. Mac McCroskey went 2-for-4 with a home run on the day as well.
Oral Roberts is appearing in the College World Series for the first time since 1978. ORU also won its opening-round game in that CWS, dispatching North Carolina 11-0.
ORU will advance to face the winner of Florida-Virginia on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. That game will be broadcast on ESPN.
