South Carolina and LSU baseball came to the decision to outright cancel Saturday’s series finale of their weekend series in Columbia due to rainy conditions. By nature of cancellation, the game will not be made up.
And that’s a shame based on how much fun the series was becoming. Saturday would have been the deciding faceoff, with South Carolina taking Game 1 Thursday before the Tigers squeaked out a win Friday, 8-7. The 2 were slated to play a doubleheader Friday but had to postpone around 6 p.m. ET due to rain.

LSU and South Carolina have not just been 2 of the best teams in the SEC, they’ve looked like the best clubs in the country so far this season. LSU has impressed all-around, with ace Paul Skenes absolutely dealing from the bump. On the other side of things, South Carolina’s bats heated up from the jump and only seem to be getting hotter as SEC play continues.
Next up for both squads: LSU will face off against Tulane Tuesday while the Gamecocks take on USC Upstate.
