Regionals begin Friday

Before getting to Omaha, teams have to take care of business in a 4-team Regional, and then win a best-of-3 Super Regional series.

At this stage, the 16 Regionals are set, and paired for the double-elimination winners to face off in 8 Super Regionals.

The SEC has 11 teams playing in Regionals. Tennessee, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Kentucky and Georgia are playing at home.

LSU is one of the six SEC teams hitting the road to begin the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers are in the Chapel Hill Regional, hosted by No. 4 national seed North Carolina. LSU is the 2-seed within the regional, set to face Wofford before moving on to the winner’s bracket or playing an elimination game.

After five weeks of SEC play, LSU had a 3-12 conference record, needing to win 10 of the next 15 to feel good about securing an at-large bid.

The Tigers swept Ole Miss to hit the 13-win threshold. LSU’s momentum carried over into the SEC Tournament, and it reached the championship.

Bettors like the Tigers to stay hot. Priced at +115, the Tigers are one of the most bet teams to win their regional. Regional hosts Kentucky and Texas A&M are also among the most bet team by handle.
