Umpire pushes college baseball player toward first base after he admires home run

If a player touches an umpire during a game, that player is automatically ejected (and likely faces a multiple-game suspension).

Apparently, though, umpires can push players toward first base after they hit home runs.

That’s what happened at the East Carolina regional in the NCAA Baseball Tournament on Monday. As you can see below, a Pirate player hit a home run and, as players often do in today’s college baseball, stood and admired his bomb.

Then, the umpire started pushing the player toward first base:

We’ll see if the umpire faces any punishment from the NCAA.
