Nate Oats and Alabama basketball landed a big-time transfer commitment on Friday afternoon.

The Crimson Tide picked up a commitment from former Florida State forward Taylor Bol Bowen. That’s according to a report from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, who notes that Bowen is a former top-10 recruit. He averaged 8 points and just over 5 rebounds per game this season.

In addition to that solid production, Bowen was also effective as a 3-point shooter. He made 41.4% of his 3-point attempts this season on a volume of 2.4 shots per game. He also showed good touch at the free throw line, making 78% of his shots from the charity stripe.

Bowen fits the mod of a versatile forward that has excelled under Oats in Tuscaloosa over the past few seasons. He’ll now arrive at Alabama as the Tide are forced to replace key forwards such as Grant Nelson and Clifford Omoruyi.

Bowen is the second transfer commitment for Alabama so far this offseason. The Crimson Tide previously landed a pledge from former Bucknell center Noah Williamson. With guards Mark Sears and Labaron Philon also expected to depart this offseason, Alabama will likely make some backcourt additions via the portal as well.
