Bruce Pearl made a point to bring up officiating when asked about Chad Baker-Mazara’s ejection for a Flagrant 2 in the second half of Auburn’s loss to Alabama on Saturday.
Pearl turned some heads postgame with his answer to a question about the call.
“What I’d like is for the first fouls to be called,” the Auburn coach said. “But I have not seen the play, so I just can’t comment on whatever happened there. Flagrant 2, this is his second time having it. We’re not as good a team without him.”

Pearl adds, "Chad can't do that."
It wasn’t the only comment Pearl made about officiating in the game. He also vented frustration with the “shots” Johni Broome took during the game and the lack of foul calls.
Bruce Pearl: "Johni Broome took 15 or 16 of his first shots in the paint, and did not go to the foul line. I have an issue with that."
