Chris Beard and Brad Underwood aren’t facing each other in the NCAA Tournament (yet), but both of their teams are in the same location and preparing for their respective round of 32 matchups in Milwaukee.

The 2 coaches crossed paths and had some friendly banter back and forth to each other. Before they were coaching at the Division I level, they where making their marks coaching at the JUCO level.

While Underwood was talking to reporters about the matchup against Kentucky, Beard walked by and told reporters to bring up their days as the coaches at Dodge City Community College and Fort Scott. Underwood talked some smack to Beard but then went on to say it is 2 guys getting to live out their dreams now in March Madness.

“We are just a bunch of juco guys,” Underwood said. “We coach ball and we get to live out our dreams and that is what this thing is about. It’s just as much for coaches as it is for players. That is what makes this fun and enjoyable and you meet a lot of really good people on the way and Chris is one of them.”
