College basketball AP Top 25: Tennessee, Auburn lead the way in latest rankings

The latest AP Top 25 poll is here, and it looks similar to how it did last week for the SEC.
Tennessee is still on top at the No. 1 spot after downing Illinois on the road on Saturday. The Vols, led by a 23-point effort from Jordan Gainey off the bench, beat the Illini at the buzzer despite Zakai Zeigler and Chaz Lanier both fouling out in the late stages of the game. Illinois isn’t a top 5 program in the country, but the Vols’ win was as impressive as any this weekend given the circumstances.
Next up is Auburn, which downed Ohio State in a beatdown that was never close. Johni Broome was on another level, dropping 21 points with 20 rebounds, 3 blocks and 6 assists in the 91-53 win. There’s a reason that many believe the Tigers are the best team in the country, folks.
And as it was last week, Kentucky, Alabama and Florida are all in the top 10 behind Tennessee and Auburn, with the Gators still undefeated on the season at 10-0. Oklahoma, for reasons this writer cannot understand, fell one spot to No. 14 despite still being undefeated on the season. Oklahoma, Florida and Tennessee are 3 of the 6 remaining undefeated teams remaining in Division I.
Texas A&M and Ole Miss are also ranked this week after the Aggies picked up a huge win over Purdue and Ole Miss scored a blowout win over Southern Miss.
