Dan Hurley to Baylor players after Florida loss: ‘I hope they don’t f— you like they f—ed us’
Dan Hurley was not pleased with the officiating in UConn’s narrow loss to Florida on Sunday afternoon.
Hurley made his frustrations known to officials during the game, but he also aired some grievances in the postgame tunnel. As UConn was exiting the floor in Raleigh, Hurley addressed some Baylor players and staff who were waiting their turn to take the floor.
“I hope they don’t f— you like they f—ed us,” Hurley yelled. “I hope they don’t do that to you, Baylor. I hope they don’t do that to you guys.”
It was an emotional exit for UConn as the Huskies failed to make the Sweet 16 after winning the last 2 national championships. UConn made the game closer-than-expected against the No. 1 Gators, but Florida ultimately prevailed thanks to some clutch shots by Walter Clayton Jr.
Florida did also have a big advantage at the free throw line. The Gators shot 34 free throws compared to 22 from UConn. The Huskies were called for 21 total fouls while there were 17 on Florida.
However, in the end, it was UConn’s offense that struggled to generate good looks. The Huskies shot under 40% from the field and under 30% from 3-point range in the 77-75 loss.
Florida is headed to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2017.
