Danny Kanell says North Carolina reaction shows SEC ‘inferiority complex’

Danny Kanell has found that trolling the SEC generates a lot of engagement on social media. His latest attempt to troll the conference is questionable at best.

Kanell took to social media on Monday morning to join the March Madness discourse. He claims that “SEC fan boys” reacting to North Carolina making the NCAA Tournament shows an inferiority complex.

It’s a curious take from Kanell and feels forced to make it about the SEC. UNC making the field of 68 was arguably the biggest surprise of Selection Sunday. Many feel that Big 12 program West Virginia and Big Ten blue blood Indiana were more deserving than UNC.

The Tar Heels making the tournament, though, had nothing to do with the SEC. The SEC had a record 14 teams receive bids. There were no bubble SEC teams left out. The only SEC teams to not make the NCAA Tournament, LSU and South Carolina, had losing records. North Carolina did not take a spot from an SEC team.

The North Carolina controversy is hardly about the SEC, but when you have an unhealthy obsession with hating the SEC, everything is about the SEC.
