Auburn basketball has come so far this season. The Tigers are the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and entered the big dance with a 28-5 record. Anything short of a Final Four and run at the national title will leave Auburn fans underwhelmed.

But Dylan Cardwell, the Tigers’ starting center, has another reason for wanting to stay in the tournament. When asked by reporters, Cardwell insisted Auburn can’t go home early because otherwise they would miss out on the free breakfast.

Obviously, Cardwell has his priorities straight.

The Tigers started a little slow against 16-seed Alabama State on Thursday, but took flight in the 2nd half to post a 20-point victory. But while Auburn could afford to be off their game against the Hornets, that won’t be the case against the Bluejays of Creighton.

Creighton was red-hot from range on Thursday against Louisville and heads into Saturday’s matchup with an abundance of confidence. Auburn is the more talented and deeper team, but there’s plenty of danger lurking within this game for the No. 1 overall seed.

So far, this tournament has been pretty chalky. Only 3 double-digit seeds have advanced so far: McNeese, Drake and Arkansas, beating Clemson, Mizzou and Kansas, respectively.

Auburn vs. Creighton will tip off Saturday evening at 7:10 on TBS/truTV.
