Eddie Lampkin Jr., transferring Syracuse big man, draws interest from 5 SEC teams

Eddie Lampkin Jr. has made the rounds in the college basketball world. The transferring Syracuse big man spent the first 3 years of his career at TCU. Then he spent a year at Colorado before ending up with the Orange in 2024-25.

Now he’s back in the transfer portal and is looking for a new team with which to finish his college hoops career. After averaging 11.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest last year, he’s drawing plenty of interest in the portal.

Those SEC basketball squads are set to compete with Indiana, Baylor, UNLV, New Orleans, Oklahoma State, Virginia and USC for Lampkin’s services this coming season, per The Portal Report:

Does Lampkin want to challenge himself in the best conference in men’s basketball? If so, he’ll end up in the SEC. It’s probably not far-fetched to say New Orleans and UNLV don’t have the best chance to land Lampkin’s commitment, but crazier things have happened.

We’ll see where Lampkin ends up, but it’s clear the 6-11, 265-pound big man will have plenty of options.
