Florida and Auburn are set to square off next Saturday in the Final Four. These 2 teams have been the best 2 teams in the SEC the entire season. Auburn won the regular season SEC Championship, while Florida claimed the SEC Tournament title. The Gators and Tigers played only once this season, with UF picking up a 90-81 road victory.
Auburn got up in that game 15-5 early, but the Gators rallied back to get the win. Point guard Walter Clayton Jr. finished that game with 19 points, and helped set the tone for the run he was going to go on.
With the matchup already out, that means Vegas already has the spread out in the game, and the Gators opened as a 2.5-point favorite over the Tigers at FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Gators have given their fans some incredible moments, as they have found themselves in some tough battles in the tournament. In the 2nd round, the Gators got all they want from the 2-time defending national champion UConn Huskies, before pulling away late. In the Elite Eight matchup against Texas Tech, Florida was down 9 with just a few minutes to go, before Clayton and Thomas Haugh hit some huge shots to get the win.
Auburn entered the NCAA Tournament losing 3 of its final 4 games, and the Tigers got off to a slow start against Alabama State. However, the team responded and won their first 3 games in the tournament by at least 12 points. Auburn appears to have avoided a crushing injury to Johni Broome, who told Tracy Wolfson after the win against the Spartans that he would be ready for the Final Four.
The over/under is currently163.5 points, showing the expectation that this is going to be a high-scoring game.
