Former Alabama forward Jarin Stevenson transferring to North Carolina, per report

Jarin Stevenson is going home to Chapel Hill. The former Alabama forward has reportedly committed to North Carolina.
The news comes just days after Stevenson entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal with a “do not contact” tag, indicating he had his destination in mind. Joe Tipton of On3 shared the news of Stevenson’s UNC commitment on Sunday evening via social media.
A former Seaforth standout, Stevenson was ranked the No. 3 player in the state of North Carolina for the Class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite. He picked up offers from Alabama, UNC, NC State, Georgetown, Virginia, Wake Forest and Mizzou, signing to play for Nate Oats’ Crimson Tide program.
Stevenson, listed at 6-11, 215 pounds, heads home after 2 seasons in Tuscaloosa. At UA, Stevenson played in 74 games. He made 5 starts in the 2023-24 campaign and 22 starts this past season. For his career, Stevenson averages 5.4 points and 3 rebounds over 17.6 minutes per game.
Season highs for Stevenson included 22 points at Texas (Feb. 11), 7 rebounds against Kentucky and 30 minutes played against Florida (March 15).
Stevenson is Carolina’s 4th offseason addition out of the portal, joining Jonathan Powell (West Virginia), Henri Veesaar (Arizona) and Kyan Evans (Colorado State).
