Former Mizzou forward Aidan Shaw confirmed his plans to leave the Tigers last week. Now, he’s exiting the transfer portal and will head to an ACC basketball program for the 2025-26 season.

Late Monday evening, Shaw announced he is committing to Boston College via the portal after spending 3 seasons with Dennis Gates at Mizzou. He heads to a BC program that has not made it to the NCAA Tournament since 2009 and is trying to rebuild after a 12-19 mark this past season.

Shaw arrived at Mizzou in the 2022 recruiting class with the hype of a 4-star forward and top-70 player nationally per the 247 Sports Composite. While he leaves the Tigers with 92 career appearances, he did not quite live up to that hype and generated a 3-star transfer rating per 247 Sports.

Shaw produced his best numbers last season when he averaged 16 minutes played in 32 total appearances. He had 13 points and 9 rebounds in a late-season matchup vs. Ole Miss but struggled to find consistency.

The promising forward opened the 2024-25 season with 11 points off the bench in a loss to Memphis, but that would be his best outing of the season. His usage greatly dipped when SEC action began, and Shaw registered just 28 appearances without a start as a junior.

Best of luck to Shaw as he makes the move to BC for the season ahead.
