Grant Nelson landed one of the best dunks of the year on Auburn on Saturday afternoon — and then he let the Tigers hear about it.

Midway through the 1st half, Nelson caught a pass on the wing and noticed Auburn’s defense was late to get back to defend the rim. Nelson took full advantage as he got downhill and dunked over Auburn center Dylan Cardwell to extend the Tide’s early lead.

After the dunk, Nelson reveled in his accomplishment by posing as the Crimson Crane — an Alabama football celebration that first began a few years ago. The celebration also has roots in the film The Karate Kid.

Here’s a clip of the moment:

Auburn took exception to the celebration and Bruce Pearl argued that taunting should have been called on the Alabama forward. However, no additional fouls were assessed and play resumed after a review.

There’s not a ton on the line for either team in this game with regards to the SEC standings. However, Alabama could get back into the No. 1 seed discussion if the Crimson Tide pull off a road win over Auburn. The Tigers are solidified as a No. 1 seed regardless of the outcome. Auburn has also already clinched the top seed in the SEC Tournament, which is set to begin next week.
