Jalen Rose calls out Seth Davis for attempting ‘jinx’ of Michigan vs. Auburn
Jalen Rose loves the Michigan basketball team he once starred for.
The former member of the iconic “Fab Five” who helped the Wolverines get to back-to-back national title games in 1992 and ’93 would love nothing more than to see this edition of the Michigan basketball team climb the mountain and win the whole thing.
But after the Wolverines stunned a few and won the Big Ten Tournament a few weeks ago, Rose felt like fellow college basketball analyst Seth Davis was disrespecting Michigan by picking it to get upset in the first round by 12-seed UC San Diego. Well, the Wolverines survived that potential disaster with a 3-point win, then they did one better and took down 4-seed Texas A&M in the second round to land in the Sweet 16.
So, with Michigan somewhat surprisingly still ticking in the Sweet 16 and taking on mighty Auburn, who is the No. 1 overall seed in the whole tournament, what does Davis believe will happen now? Davis believes that the same Michigan team he thought would be 1-and-done in the tournament will now topple Auburn on Friday night in Atlanta and advance to the Elite Eight.
“Are you trying to jinx us, are you trying to set us up?” Rose asked Davis with a wry smile.
Rose then let loose with a “Hail to The Victors!” chant before flashing a smile.
Here is Rose’s semi-sarcastic rant on Friday:
