John Calipari had a big update to share Tuesday: Adou Thiero will return for the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Sweet 16.
Calipari shared the news during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
“I’m kind of – am I breaking this with you, Pat?” Calipari asked. “Adou Thiero is available. He is available.”
Getting back Thiero is a big boost for the Hogs. Like Boogie Fland, Theiro’s availability will still be limited.
“Now, I played Boogie, who was available, 15-18 minutes – but he helped us win the game! He made the steal, he made the plays, he made the assists,” Calipari said to McAfee. “Adou? It’s a different deal because we need his toughness and his athleticism. The most he’ll play? 12, 12 minutes, maybe 15 – maybe, I doubt.
“But you’ve got to prepare now because we’re a different team. Finally, we’ve got a full roster.”
Arkansas, a 10-seed, made the Sweet 16 with 2 thrilling upset wins. The Hogs defeated Bill Self’s 7-seed Kansas squad in the opening round to set up a showdown with Rick Pitino’s 2-seed St. John’s team.
With Fland, and now Thiero back, the Hogs will hardly look like a 10-seed as they try for 2 more wins to reach the Final Four.
I'll break this news with you..
