Kansas scoreboard breaks before Kentucky game, hits Jayhawk player in the face

Kansas lost to Kentucky in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Saturday, and it seems the Jayhawks were doomed even before the opening tipoff.

As the team was running out onto the court before the game, there was a scoreboard malfunction.

As you can see below, a panel of the scoreboard above Kansas’s tunnel fell, smacking a player in the face:

Fortunately, the player seemed to be fine after the incident, but that could have led to a serious injury.

Kansas fell to Kentucky in Lawrence, 80-62. It was 1 of the SEC’s 6 wins in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, and a big one for John Calipari’s Wildcats.
