LSU basketball is expected to run things back with head coach Matt McMahon for the 2025-26 basketball season, but the Tigers are reportedly losing one of their top freshmen to the transfer portal.
According to a report on social media, freshman guard Vyctorious Miller is planning on entering the transfer portal when things open. Miller was limited to 25 games as a true freshman but was productive when on the court.

Based on per-game averages, Miller was the 4th-leading scorer for LSU this season at 8.9 points per game. He also added 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 44.7% overall and 31.8% from 3-point range. Miller was 3rd on LSU with 1.1 made 3-pointers per game.
Coming out of high school, Miller was a 4-star composite prospect and a top-100 player. The 247 Sports Composite had Miller as the No. 60 overall recruit and 11th overall shooting guard in the 2024 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-5 guard was the highest-rated prospect and 1 of 3 players with a 4-star rating in McMahon’s 2024 recruiting class, group that was ranked as a top-20 class nationally. LSU can certainly replenish the loss via recruiting or the transfer portal, but it’s not a great sign at this juncture heading into next season.
The Tigers have just 11 total SEC basketball victories in 3 seasons under McMahon. He will enter next season on a hot seat after LSU was 1 of just 2 SEC programs (South Carolina) to miss this year’s NCAA Tournament.
