Odds to win the East Region
Duke (-145) is the outright favorite to win the East Region and advance to the Final Four. Alabama has the next-best odds at +425. Arizona, the 4-seed in the region, has shorter odds (+900) than 3-seed Wisconsin (+1200). Should the Wildcats beat Oregon on Sunday, they’ll potentially meet Duke in the Sweet 16. Arizona lost 69-55 to Duke during the regular season.
Oregon (+2800) and Baylor (+2800) have the longest odds to win this region.
Odds to win the South Region
Auburn (-110) is the outright favorite to win the South. The 3-seed in this portion of the bracket, Iowa State, is viewed as the bigger threat to Auburn. The Cyclones are +400 to win the region while 2-seed Michigan State is priced at +425. Iowa State is notably playing without star guard Keshon Gilbert, the team’s second-leading scorer at 13.4 points per game.
Texas A&M is +800 to win the region. New Mexico (+4000) is the deep sleeper as the lowest-seeded team in this part of the bracket.
Odds to win the West Region
Florida (-115) is the favorite to win the West, which should come as no surprise after the Gators won the SEC Tournament and followed that up with a resounding victory over Norfolk State in the NCAA Tournament’s opening round. St. John’s (+425) and Texas Tech (+425) are both viewed as equally dangerous threats to knock off the Gators and advance to the Final Four. Maryland is +550. Arkansas is +2200 while Drake is +3300.
UConn, the 2-time defending national champ, is +1500 to win the region. The Huskies battle the Gators on Sunday. Colorado State (+5000) has the longest odds to make the Final Four of any team left in the West.
Odds to win the Midwest Region
Houston is the only 1-seed at ESPN Bet with plus odds to win its region. The Cougars are +135, implying a 42.6% likelihood they advance to the Final Four. Tennessee is +275 to win the region while Gonzaga (+425) holds the next-shortest odds.
The Zags will battle the Cougs in the second round on Saturday in what looks like the most dangerous second-round matchup for any of the 1-seeds. Gonzaga won its first-round game with Georgia by 21 points. The Zags are also ranked eighth nationally in KenPom. They are 4 spots above 2-seed St. John’s; they are rated higher than every 3-seed in the field and every 4-seed in the field.
Duke’s second-round matchup is against KenPom’s No. 29 team. Auburn’s second-round matchup is against KenPom’s No. 35 team. Florida’s is against KenPom’s No. 32 team.
Elsewhere, Purdue is +900 to win the region. Kentucky (+1000) and UCLA (+1500) are the dark horses while McNeese (+5000) is the real long shot.
