Mike Krzyzewski has coached championship teams throughout his career as a basketball coach, and he knows what that type of team looks like. Three years after retiring from Duke, Coach K is still heavily involved with the game.

On SiriusXM’s College Sports Radio, Coach K shared his thoughts on what makes Florida such a formidable opponent in March.

“They are a combination of old and new school,” Krzyzewski said. “Florida uses bigs and their bigs are good. They can sub bigs. They don’t just play 5-out, which is okay. (Guard Walter) Clayton is a stud and (guard Will) Richard. These guys are really as good as anybody.”

The Gators have shown all year that they are as good as any team in their country. They have multiple guards who can take over and they have the inside talent that Coach K talked about, but Todd Golden’s team is also as deep as anybody in the NCAA Tournament. Florida is coming off an impressive SEC Tournament run that saw the Gators beat Missouri, Alabama and Tennessee in 3 consecutive days to win the conference championship.

Florida gets things started on Friday night at 6:50 p.m. ET as the 1-seed Gators take on 16-seed Norfolk State.
