Keshawn Murphy recently entered the NCAA transfer portal after a standout season at Mississippi State. As he considers his options, multiple SEC programs are hoping to keep him in the conference for 2025-26.

Joe Tipton of On3 shared Sunday, per sources, that Murphy is receiving interest from 6 programs, including Mississippi State. While MSU hopes to bring him back for 2025-26, 5 other schools are also trying to land his commitment:

While Murphy is certainly exploring his many options, he was complimentary of his Mississippi State experience when announcing his portal decision on Wednesday.

First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to continue my career/dream on a high level. I also want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mississippi State University and the coaching staff for their unwavering support and guidance throughout my time here,” Murphy wrote in a post on social media. “The last four years at Mississippi State, I have built great bonds on and off the court!

“I am more than grateful to be a part of amazing teams and staffs throughout my career. To my teammates old and new. Thank you for pushing me to my full potential and keeping my head high when I needed it the most.

Murphy, a product of Ramsay High School from Birmingham, Alabama, completed his redshirt junior season in 2024-25. He came off the bench in 31 of 34 games, but was a productive contributor for the Bulldogs, averaging 11.7 points and 7.4 rebounds over 24 minutes per game.

Plenty of SEC fanbases will be interested to see if he stays in the conference for 2025-26.
