The transfer portal has claimed more than a few former top prospects, and Mizzou is losing another piece of the roster coming out of the 2024-25 season.
On Friday, Matt Zenitz with CBS Sports/247 Sports reported that Marcus Allen was entering the transfer portal. Originally a 4-star recruit out of Florida, Allen appeared in 26 games off the bench as a true freshman.

Coming out of high school, Allen was a 4-star prospect and the 2nd highest-rated player in Mizzou’s 2024 recruiting class. He was 1 of 3 players for the Tigers to receive a top-100 rating, coming in as the 67th overall prospect in the country per the 247 Sports Composite.
Allen did see playing time as a true freshman, though he appeared in just 26 games with his last appearance coming in the SEC Tournament during a loss to Florida. He averaged 2.6 points and 2 rebounds in just 9.2 minutes per game.
Mizzou is trying to build on its 2nd NCAA Tournament appearance under Dennis Gates, and it will be interesting to see how his staff tries to approach the offseason. Allen joins Aidan Shaw as players to hit the transfer portal in search of a new home, though neither made a major impact during their time with the Tigers.
