Nate Oats says his Alabama team is about as healthy as it can be in the middle of March Madness.

Ahead of Alabama’s Sweet 16 clash with 6-seed BYU, Oats was asked about the health of Grant Nelson and Clifford Omoruyi.

“I talked to Grant. He says he was at 90 percent, but then his point was I’ve been at 90% of the most of the year,” Oats said.

“I don’t know who is at 100% this point of the year. Cliff is for sure healthy. Grant is pretty healthy. Not 100% but close enough. We’ve got everything about as close to 100 as you’re going to be able to get at this point of the year. And Grant is probably the furthest from that, but like he made the point to me, he hasn’t been better than 90 for the last month or so. I think we’ll have our full roster available for us to play this game.”

Nelson’s status was a major storyline last week. The standout forward was injured in the SEC Tournament. As UA found itself in a tighter-than-expected game against 15-seed, Nelson asked to be inserted. He logged 7 minutes, providing a valuable 5 points and 3 rebounds in the brief appearance.

In the Round of 32, Nelson logged 28 minutes, his longest appearance since the regular-season finale at Auburn (35 minutes).

Alabama and BYU are set for a 7:09 p.m. ET tipoff on Thursday. The Crimson Tide is favored by 5.5 points at BetMGM Sportsbook.
