NC State picks up commitment from ex-Michigan State star Tre Holloman

Will Wade is working hard to rebuild his new destination, and NC State landed a new piece for the 2025-26 roster over the weekend.
Former Michigan State star Tre Holloman officially confirmed his commitment to the Wolfpack on Sunday, where he will join an NC State program in the middle of a rebuild. Wade, the former head coach at LSU who led McNeese State to an NCAA Tournament win over Clemson, is remaking NC State, and Holloman figures to be a key piece in the 2025-26 season.
Across his 3 seasons playing under Tom Izzo, Holloman appeared in 106 career games. He started 16 games this past season but was mainly used as MSU’s 6th man once Jase Richardson established his role as the dominant scorer in the starting lineup.
Even coming off the bench, Holloman was Michigan State’s 3rd-leading scorer at 9.1 points per game. He also averaged 3.7 assists (2nd on the team) and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 37% from the floor.
Holloman becomes the 3rd player committed to Will Wade’s NC State program for the 2025-26 season, but he’s the first non-former McNeese player to pledge to the new head coach. He joins guard duo Quadir Copeland and Alyn Breed, who followed Wade from his previous destination.
Each player in that trio has earned a 4-star transfer rating per 247 Sports for a program looking to rebound and head back to the NCAA Tournament.
