Nik Graves and the Charlotte 49ers didn’t have a great year in the American Athletic Conference. Charlotte finished the 2024-25 season with an 11-22 overall record and a 3-15 mark in AAC play. Those were both the worst records in the AAC.

However, Graves was a bright spot for the 49ers, scoring 17.5 points per game and averaging 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest.

Now though, the rising senior has entered the NCAA transfer portal, and it appears he could end up coming to the SEC for the 2025-26 season. Per The Portal Report on X, 2 SEC basketball programs — Mizzou and LSU — are in the mix for Graves:

The pair of SEC Tigers will compete with the Creighton Bluejays for Graves’ services next year. We’ll see if he ends up with Dennis Gates and company in Columbia, or with Matt McMahon in Baton Rouge.

Graves shot 41.7% from the floor and 32.8% from 3-point range this past season on 12.2 shot attempts per game. He played in all 33 games for the 49ers, starting each and every one of them.

Can he become the latest guard to transfer into the SEC and become a star? We’ll see what the future holds for Graves.
