Shaqir O’Neal is entering the transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Jamie Shaw.

While he might not be the most coveted player in the portal, the 6-foot-7 forward will undoubtedly be one of the biggest names. O’Neal is the son of NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, a 2-time All-American and Player of the Year recipient at LSU.

The younger O’Neal will be going into his fifth season of college ball. O’Neal began his career at Texas Southern, where he spent 3 seasons. He transferred to Florida A&M this season and made 17 starts.

In 29 appearances, O’Neal averaged 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 18 minutes a game. He shot 50.3% from the field and 37.5% from 3-point range.

Over the course of his career, O’Neal has averaged 12.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per 40 minutes. He has had productive outings, he just hasn’t had consistent time on the floor.

O’Neal scored 26 points while grabbing 9 boards and blocking 4 shots in a game on Nov. 22. He made 9 of his 16 shot attempts and knocked down 4 of his 8 triples in that contest. He also scored 20 points in 18 minutes in a game on Dec. 6.

He scored in double figures 8 times for the Rattlers last season.
