Silas Demary Jr. has found his new home. After a year as a Bulldog, he’s going to be Husky.

Demary is transferring to UConn after spending the 2024-25 season at Georgia, his NIL representatives told ESPN.

Demary was considered one of the big names in the transfer portal after a strong season playing for Mike White at UGA. In 2024-25, Demary made 33 appearances, all starts. He averaged 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per contest. Demary stood out shooting the 3 ball, hitting 37.4% of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Ahead of his commitment, Demary had also shown interest in St. John’s, BYU and Duke. Dan Hurley’s UConn program won back-to-back national championships in 2023 and ’24. This year, the Huskies were an 8-seed and exited in the Round of 32 with a tough loss to 1-seed Florida.

The Bulldogs made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015. With Demary off to UConn and Asa Newell a projected NBA Draft pick, White will have some work to do to get the Dawgs back in the Big Dance next year.
