Sunday marked the end of an era for Tennessee sports. Bob Kesling and Bert Bertelkamp signed off for the final time on the Vol Network.
Kesling and Bertelkamp’s 2024-25 assignment concluded with the end of the Tennessee basketball season in the Elite 8. The UT basketball account posted a farewell video on social media. In the clip, an audibly choked up Bertelkamp reflected with Kesling on what it has been like covering the Volunteers for nearly 3 decades.

As Kesling notes, the Voice of the Vols is staying in the family. Mike Keith was announced as the next Voice of the Vols on Jan. 9. Like Kesling, Keith is a UT alumnus.
Keith is more than just a Tennessee graduate. Professionally active since 1984, Keith helped cover the Vols in the late 1990s. Since 1999, however, Keith has been the play-by-play voice for the Tennessee Titans.
Keith’s career highlights include being named Tennessee’s Sportscaster of the Year 11 times from 2000 to 2023 and being inducted into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame (2020) and Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame (2021).
