Tennessee women’s basketball continues streak as only team to make every NCAA Tournament

Tennessee women’s basketball kept its NCAA Tournament streak alive. The Lady Vols have now been part of all 43 tournaments.

UT has a rich tournament history. Having been in every NCAA Tournament, Tennessee has recorded the most tournament games played at 165. The Lady Vols have the second-most tournament victories of any team with 131.

Tennessee will look to get its 132nd NCAA Tournament win on Friday against USF. The Lady Vols are the No. 5 seed in the Birmingham 3 Regional and will face 12-seed USF (23-10). UT will play first- and second-round games in Columbus, Ohio at the Schottenstein Center. Friday’s game is set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.

UT is in its 1st season under coach Kim Caldwell. The Lady Vols have a 22-9 record entering the tournament, going 8-8 in SEC play and advancing to the second round of the conference tournament. Tennessee played 16 games against tournament teams, going 8-8 in those contests.

The Lady Vols are 1 of 9 SEC teams to make the NCAA Women’s Tournament, joining LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Mississippi State. The full bracket can be viewed here.
