Don’t look now, but Robert Morris is giving Alabama everything it has early.

The Colonials trail the 2-seed Crimson Tide by just 4 entering halftime, 40-36, but that’s not quite the story. During that half Alabama shot 60% from the field and 40% from 3. The fact that Robert Morris is still within striking distances itself is a cause for concern for the Tide.

Not to mention, the Tide are dealing with injury issues heading into the 2nd half. Jarin Stevenson exited the game with a wrist injury and Grant Nelson, who was deemed available pregame, has yet to check in.

Alabama has not played well defensively, but the real story is Robert Morris’s shot volume. The Colonials have attempted 15 more shots than the Crimson Tide thanks to some timely offensive rebounds, steals and turnovers. The Tide have 5 turnovers compared to Robert Morris’s 1.

This game is far from over, and there’s plenty of time for the Tide to pull away. Regardless, some fans took to social media Friday to pronounce the Crimson Tide officially on upset alert, while other showed up just to clown Alabama’s struggling defense.
