Tom Izzo has no regrets for spoiling Vladislav Goldin’s proposal with rivalry win

Tom Izzo once again has Michigan State poised to make some major noise in March Madness and back atop the Big Ten standings. After a few lackluster regular seasons by Izzo’s MSU standards, the Spartans have climbed into the top 15 and will look to get even higher before the season’s end.
The most recent victory came on Friday night when MSU rolled into Ann Arbor and delivered a resounding rivalry win against Michigan. The victory sent the Spartans to first place in the Big Ten and Michigan a half-game behind in the standings, but that still didn’t stop Wolverine big man Vladislav Goldin from proposing after the game.
While the decision to propose after a loss is questionable, it, fortunately, went off without a hitch with longtime girlfriend Camyrn Vogler saying yes:
On Saturday morning, Tom Izzo made a virtual appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay, and Rece Davis asked the longtime head coach if he felt a bit of remorse for spoiling Goldin’s night. In typical Izzo fashion, he scoffed at the idea of worrying about someone else’s plans or feelings.

“What do you mean spoiling the moment?” cracked Izzo with a laugh.
“It doesn’t bother me. I wish him and her all the luck in the world, but spoiling the moment for them? Nah, that doesn’t work here. We’ve got 600,000 living alums and a lot of great guys out there… Wish them all the luck. I hope he has a great marriage and 70 years of togetherness. But for me right now, I’m just going to worry about winning the game.”
