Treysen Eaglestaff, who scored 40 points vs. Alabama, enters NCAA transfer portal
Treysen Eaglestaff is set to enter the transfer portal this offseason, according to a report.
The North Dakota transfer burst onto the scene earlier this season with a 40-point game in North Dakota’s narrow loss to Alabama. He made 8 3-pointers in that game as well.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony broke the news of Eaglestaff’s plans to transfer and also noted that the talented guard will go through the NBA Draft process as well.
His 40 points and 8 made 3-pointers are both the most for any Alabama opponent in a single game this season. Just 6 players have even managed a 30-point night against the Crimson Tide in 2024-25 so far.
Eaglestaff figures to be a highly-sought-after transfer in college basketball this cycle if he doesn’t turn pro. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged more than 19 points per game this year and is a good 3-point shooter (37% for his career).
It’s still too early to tell where Eaglestaff might land, but Alabama could certainly be an option. Nate Oats and his staff previously dipped into the Summit League to sign Grant Nelson out of North Dakota State a couple of years ago.
