Will Wade is reportedly returning to the Power conference ranks. The former SEC coach will reportedly coach in the ACC.

According to Joe Giglio, Wade has agreed to take the NC State coaching job.

NC State is looking for a new head coach after the program fired Kevin Keatts at the conclusion of the 2024-25 regular season. Earlier Wednesday, Wade, the current McNeese coach and former LSU coach, confirmed coach with the program about the Wolfpack job.

Wade has coached the past 2 seasons at McNeese. He has a 49-8 record with the Cowboys, taking them to the NCAA Tournament in each season. McNeese is set to face Clemson on Thursday.

Wade is best known for his 5 seasons at LSU. He guided the Tigers to postseason action every season sans 2020 (COVID-19). The Tigers were an NIT team in Wade’s 1st season, and then made 3 consecutive NCAA Tournaments, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2019. Wade was fired on March 12, 2022, after LSU received an NCAA Notice of Allegations.

Giglio notes that Wade to NC State still needs to be finalized with McNeese playing in the Big Dance, but all indications are he is headed to Raleigh.
