It’s officially Auburn-Georgia hate week. This year there’s a ton on the line: Georgia’s SEC hopes, Georgia’s Playoff hopes, Gus’ next job at Arkansas and so much more. It should be a great game with 2 proud and passionate fan bases.
But who should you root for if you’re a neutral fan? We’re here to help you out. We put together a list of 20 reasons it’s better to be a Georgia fan than an Auburn fan. Don’t worry Auburn fans, your list is right here.
1. You know what it’s like to go to the College Football Playoff
Auburn just knows what it’s like to watch them.
2. People can find the city of Athens on a map
Good luck trying to find out where Auburn is.
3. You don’t have to pretend to like Bruce Pearl
No amount of wins would be worth having to root for that guy every game.
4. You actually beat Florida this year
What happened when Auburn played them? Huh.
5. Auburn might have won the last game at Jordan-Hare, but you won the one that mattered
6. Your quarterback isn’t Bo Nix
People can joke all they want about Jake Fromm, but we all know which of these QBs you would take.
7. You know your coach won’t leave you for Arkansas
But Arkansas would take Kirby over Gus in a heartbeat if it had the chance.
8. You’ll never be little brother to your in-state rivals
Unless it’s Overwatch or Pokemon Go, UGA will never have to worry about being worse at something than Georgia Tech.
9. You never hired Gene Chizik
That’s something only Auburn would do.
10. You’ll never have to litter your campus with toilet paper to celebrate a win
To be fair, Auburn football doesn’t get to do too much celebrating these days, so you can cut them some slack.
11. The most fun thing to do in Auburn is drive somewhere else
Athens has everything you need, mainly lots and lots of bars.
12. You don’t have to wear orange and blue
Everyone agrees this is the worst color combo.
13. Athens gave us REM and the B-52s.
Auburn gave us a few gas stations to stop at on our way to better cities.
14. You have an actual offensive plan
I don’t think what Auburn runs can be qualified as a “plan” or even as “offense.”
15. There’s no place in the South like Athens on gameday
Come here once and you’ll agree.
16. You’re only an hour drive from the SEC Championship Game
Auburn is 2 hours and 2 losses away.
17. Kirby has never done something this embarrassing
18. Everyone knows Apple got worse once Tim Cook took over
We’re gonna blame Auburn for this.
19. You get to call the dawgs
Auburn has nothing that compares to this.
20. No Auburn grad will ever be better than Herschel Walker
Even Bo knows this. Just watch.
