See what happens when you give Nike free reign over apparel options?
Kentucky gave Nike a blank slate last season and it resulted in a variety of combinations and UniSwag’s Uniform of the Year award.
From chrome helmets during the win over South Carolina to an all-grey ensemble at home against Georgia, the Wildcats’ threads were among the most appealing nationally in the uniform debate and easily surpassed others as the SEC’s best of 2014.

Mark Stoops needed something to shift attention to his program and it worked, at least temporarily.
Well done.
It’ll be difficult to top the excitement of last season’s various reveals, but there are still a couple combinations on the table to unveil at new Commonwealth Stadium. Matte black helmets with black jerseys and blue pants?

Kentucky’s current base design — exclusive to the Wildcats with checkered sleeves, flywired collars and team-specific font — could be spruced up a bit. Nike provided Vanderbilt with sublimated anchors on its sleeves last season and went a step further with the Commodores’ new 2015 ‘Deep Water’ alternate.
The swoosh could do the same in Lexington, incorporating an updated ‘Cat Scratch’ secondary design on pants or as a helmet logo with a fierce moniker.
