Wyatt Davis, a five-star guard in the class of 2017, said he would be making his decision today and did just that, announcing in his high school’s football office. The finalists for the lineman out of Bellflower, Calif. included Alabama, Ohio State, UCLA and Notre Dame.
Huge pick-up for Urban Meyer. #OhioState gets a commitment from 5-star OL Wyatt Davis from out here in Southern California at Bosco.

#Buckeyes working on the best recruiting class in @247Sports History. Wyatt Davis the latest #OhioState commit: https://t.co/pBPBFaH3Io

With Davis’ commitment, 247Sports’ Director of Recruiting and Recruiting Insider Steve Wiltfong talked about the class the Buckeyes have already put together.
“Davis is ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 1 offensive guard,” Wiltfong said. “He joins the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle Josh Myers and the nation’s No. 1 dual-threat quarterback Tate Martell as prospects that top their respective position groups.
“With Davis in the boat the Buckeyes score jumps from 94.41 to 94.73, blowing away marks from years past.”
The top score on Wiltfong’s current list is Alabama’s in 2015, which ended at 93.64. The Southeastern Conference typically takes a back seat to nobody, especially when it comes to recruiting.
Of course, the one team that consistently is vying for top-ranked recruiting classes with Alabama in particular on a year-to-year basis just so happens to be a coach that came from the SEC, in Urban Meyer and his Buckeyes.
