The James Rickards (Tallahassee, Fla.) product recently named a top five which included Auburn, Mississippi State, UCF and Georgia Tech along with the Gamecocks. South Carolina now has 14 commitments for 2017, tied with Alabama for second most in the SEC, trailing Mississippi State (15).
Although Jackson is only the second pledge of the class from the Sunshine State, that could change. First-year coach Will Muschamp has a noted history of recruiting the north and central regions of Florida for UF and Auburn.
