Jones is the No. 17-ranked wide receiver recruit according to 247Sports and is the No. 129 player overall in the class of 2017. The site’s “Crystal Ball” predicts Texas A&M as the leader for Jones, at 57 percent. Notre Dame follows at 29 percent, while Auburn is third at 14 percent.
According to Brian Perroni, a Recruiting Insider for 247Sports, “Jones is very close friends with fellow (now former) Baylor commits Kellen Mond and Jhamon Ausbon so the choices of those two could affect his decision as well. Mond is down to A&M and Auburn while Ausbon has a top four of A&M, Auburn, LSU and Michigan.”
