The performance of 5 SEC quarterbacks has put them among the finalists for one of college football’s major awards.

On Thursday, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award announced its top 10 list, and it includes Stetson Bennett from Georgia, Will Levis from Kentucky, Hendon Hooker from Tennessee, Will Rogers from Mississippi State, and Bryce Young from Alabama. The award is given to the country’s top upperclassman quarterback.

The last SEC quarterback to win the award was Mac Jones in 2020. Since the award was first handed out in 1987, 7 players from the conference have won: Alabama’s Jay Barker (1994), Florida’s Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tennessee’s Peyton Manning (1997), Ole Miss’ Eli Manning (2003), Alabama’s A.J. McCarron (2013), LSU’s Joe Burrow (2019), and Jones.

The rest of the top 10 features Max Duggan (TCU), Sam Hartman (Wake Forest), Bo Nix (Oregon), CJ Stroud (Ohio State), and Dorian Thompson-Robinson (UCLA).

The winner will be presented with the award on Dec. 7 in Baltimore by John Unitas Jr., son of Johnny Unitas and the president of the Johnny Unitas Educational Foundation.
