Sports Illustrated recently released its way too early list of the top 25 college football teams for 2019.
As expected, there were a few SEC teams that made the cut — including three of the nation’s top five teams.
Georgia came in ranked at No. 1, while Alabama was No. 2 and Auburn was No. 5. Alabama just defeated Georgia for a national championship, finishing the season 13-1. The Bulldogs went 13-2.
Auburn defeated both Alabama and Georgia but eventually lost in the New Year’s Six Peach Bowl to UCF — after falling to Georgia in an SEC Championship Game rematch. The Tigers finished 10-4.
All three teams had plenty of young talent in 2017 and will return those players next season.
Here is a look at all of the SEC teams ranked in SI’s Top 25:
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
5. Auburn
14. LSU
21. South Carolina
25. Texas A&M
