The end near for the AAF? The league reportedly set to suspend football operations

It appears the AAF may not even make it to the end of its inaugural season.
Following speculation that the league could fold if the NFL does not allow some of its players to participate in the league, making the Alliance of American Football the de facto development league for the NFL, chairman Tom Dundon has threatened to shut the league down. Apparently, Dundon wasn’t bluffing.
According to Pro Football Talk, the AAF plans to suspend all football operations and could be close to folding.
“All AAF football operations will be suspended in the next few hours, per source with knowledge of situation. League is not folding, yet. But it’s heading that way,” Pro Football Talk tweeted out moments ago.
The AAF is eight games into its 10-game schedule and was expected to play a nationally televised game on Saturday leading up to CBS’ coverage of the Final Four. The league has teams set up in Atlanta, Orlando, Birmingham, Memphis, Phoenix, San Antonio, Salt Lake City and San Diego.
